No, the theoretical performance of USB 2.0 is 480Mbits/second or work near 60MBytes/second, but in real life so quickly. Even old ATA100 hard drive slow the transfer of 50 MB per second, faster than a waste of a USB 2.0 port. Save your money until USB 3.0 comes out.
